Lantern is thrilled to share a new partnership with Mile High United Way aimed at supporting Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers in the state of Colorado.
Thanks to grant funding from Early Milestones Colorado’s Impact on Equity initiative, Lantern–in partnership with Mile High United Way–has created a text channel to reach FFN child care providers in the state of Colorado with information, tips and resources.
More than half of Colorado’s families depend on FFN providers to meet their childcare needs, making informal caregivers a critical part of the early childhood workforce.
Messages will initially focus on enrollment into the state professional development system (Colorado Shines PDIS), increasing awareness of the upcoming Colorado Caregiver tax credit, and linking FFN providers to free tax support to claim the credit on their next tax return.
In addition, the channel will include messages with information on trainings and professional growth opportunities, tips on childhood development, encouragement and validation of FFN providers, plus linkages to local resources including child-friendly activities, opportunities to connect with other FFN providers, nutrition education and food resources, and other public benefits.
Do you care for a child who is a family member, friend, or neighbor? Know someone who does? Text FFN to 274 448 for our free tips and information. You can also sign up or learn more here.
