Lantern Launches FACT Program to Help Parents Navigate Vaccine Decisions with Confidence

New text messaging program delivers clear, judgment-free answers to parents’ most common vaccine questions.

Denver, CO – October 14, 2026 – Deciding what’s best for your child’s health is one of the most important—and sometimes most difficult—choices a parent makes. Roughly 1 in 4 parents of young children say they have either delayed or skipped recommended vaccines for their child, or personally know a parent who has. Many are left searching for clear, trustworthy answers amid a flood of conflicting information.

Now, parents and caregivers have an evidence-based, judgment-free, and free resource right at their fingertips to help them make that choice with confidence: Lantern’s new FACT program.

Many parents who hesitate before vaccinating aren’t opposed to vaccines altogether — they simply want clear, trustworthy answers to their questions. FACT was built to meet that need. The program delivers short, simple text messages covering the topics parents ask about most: how vaccines work, what they contain, how their safety is tested and monitored, and how to weigh the risks of the diseases they prevent.

Unlike many vaccine education efforts, FACT is not designed to persuade parents toward any particular outcome. Instead, the program focuses on giving parents real, accessible information — without jargon, lectures, or pressure — so that whatever they decide, they can feel confident in that choice. The program was co-created with parents who describe themselves as hesitant about vaccines, as well as expert partners in vaccine communication.

FACT builds on Lantern’s proven model of delivering expert-informed, text-based support at scale. The organization’s existing programs, including its ASD Program and BOND Program, have reached thousands of parents and caregivers nationwide, with strong evidence of increased caregiver confidence, knowledge, and connection to supportive resources.

Parents interested in joining the FACT program can sign up by texting FACT to 274 448 or by visiting www.mylantern.org/fact. Participants will receive 1 text message per week for 2 months and can choose messaging in English, Spanish, or Arabic. Participants’ information is never shared or sold.

Lantern’s FACT text messaging series is part of a larger program, which delivers evidence-based early childhood information to more than half a million parents and caregivers of children, prenatally through age 10, across the United States. Lantern is proven to strengthen families, promote healthy child development, and improve school readiness.
